Shirley Ann Burris, 78, of Nederland, died
Wednesday, September 3, 2014. She was born on June 26, 1936, to Mozelle Hogg
and Jesse McDonald, and had been a long time resident of the area.
“Ms. Shirley” was a Pre-K teacher at Christian Day
Care Center of Port Arthur and a Sunday school teacher at First Church of
Nazarene in Port Arthur.
Shirley is survived by her son, Jeffrey Dale Burris
and his wife, Pamela, of Nederland; daughters, Vickie Lynn Burris of Nederland
and Lori Ann Burris of Lakeland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Daniel Paul Burris
and his wife, Randi; Andrew James Burris and his wife, Lauren; and Adam Scott
Burris, all of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Sophie Burris and Stella Burris;
and sister, Patsy Craig of Nederland.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Roy
Burris.
A gathering of Mrs. Burris’ family and friends will be from
6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505
North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be at 3:00
p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, Nederland.
