Domingo Soliz, 98, of
Beaumont, died Monday, September 1, 2014. A native of Wharton, he was born to
Sabina Barbosa Soliz and Clemente Soliz on March 26, 1916. He retired from Texas Gulf Sulfer Company after forty years.
Survivors include his son,
Raymond Soliz and his wife, Gloria of Angleton; daughters, Lily Soliz, of
Bakersfield, California; Rosa Luna and her husband, Alfred, of Houston; Sally
Gomez and her husband, Ruben; and Debbie Traster and her husband, John, all of
Beaumont; sister, Juanita Gonzalez of Sinton, Texas; twenty grandchildren;
forty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended
family members.
He is preceded in death by
his wife, Clara Macias Soliz; son, Cruz Soliz; and daughter, Angie Soliz.
A gathering of Mr. Soliz’s
family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.,
on Friday, September 5, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday,
September 6, 2014, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue
A, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
