David Matlock, 65, of Winnie,
died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at The Arboretum of Winnie. He was born
September 10, 1948, in Liberty, to Bessie Turner and Loy Matlock. David enjoyed
the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and also being on
his tractor. He especially loved his social time at Waffle House.
David is survived by his son,
Clay Matlock and his wife, Caitlin, of LaPorte; daughter, Sheri Hemphill and
her husband, David, of Anahuac; grandchildren, Jared Matlock, Breanna Matlock,
Addison Hemphill, and Rhett Hemphill; great-grandchild, Gideon Matlock;
brother, Bob Matlock and his wife, Polly, of Beaumont.
A gathering of Mr. Matlock’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17,
2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service
will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Winnie,
120 East Pear, Winnie, followed by
burial at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
