Edward "Ed" Henry Farson

Edward “Ed” Henry Farson, 91, of
Winnie, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014. He was born March 20, 1923, in Winigan,
Missouri, to Bessie Florence Jones and David Henry Farson, and had been a
longtime resident of the Winnie area. Ed was a veteran of the United States
Merchant Marines having served in World War II during the Atlantic
Conflicts.
He enjoyed carpentry and
woodworking and traveled extensively around the world. Ed always looked forward
to gathering with his buddies at the pharmacy. But first and foremost, he was
an outgoing and sharing Christian. He was baptized while a junior in high
school at the First Christian Church in Auxvasse, Missouri.
Ed is survived by his son, David
Henry Farson and his wife, Denise, of Fannett; daughter, Rebecca Farson Allen
of San Antonio; sisters, Iris Meeks and Ava Donovan, both of Macon, Missouri;
nephews, Bill Meeks and his wife, Leota, and their son, James; Fred Meeks and
his wife, Beverly, and their daughters, Stacie and Anzela; two great-nephews;
and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his
wife of forty-seven years, Edmee Theriot Farson.
A gathering of Mr. Farson’s family and friend will be
from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134
West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Funeral
services for Mr. Farson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, at First
Baptist Church of Stowell, 117 Van Ostrand Lane, Stowell. A family committal
will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
