Harold Mitchell Martin

Harold Mitchell Martin, 84,
entered into rest on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at his home in Lumberton, surrounded by
his loving family. He was born on
December 9, 1929, in Wortham,
Texas, to Mary Anna Adams Martin
and Reuben Mitchell Martin. A 1947 graduate of Silsbee High School,
he played an active part in the annual Chance/Loeb school reunions. Harold was an independent Oil Landman for
forty-two years and continued to work until January 2014. He was a member of Parkway Life
Church until his passing.
In 1956, Harold began working for Sinclair Pipeline and then
transferred to Corpus Christi. While in Corpus Christi, he was Assistant Pastor at
Calvary Tabernacle for twenty years. In
1966, he transferred to Houston
and played an active part at Bethel Tabernacle.
He then moved to the Beaumont
area in 1998.
Harold loved his Lord, family and
friends, and will be missed by many. He
was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of
sixty-six years, Glenna Martin of Lumberton;
daughter, Brenda Pippin of Lumberton; grandsons,
Brandon Pippin and his wife, Courtney and Brent Pippin and LaRanda Pippin;
great-grandchildren, Kelsy, Jake, Kinsy,
Britain, and
Paris; and a host of family and friends.
A gathering of Mr. Martin’s
family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7,
2014, at Parkway Life Church,
Village Creek Parkway
at Mitchell Road, Lumberton.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, at the
church, with interment to follow at Forest
Lawn Memorial
Park, Beaumont,
under the direction of Broussard’s, 490
Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
Serving as pallbearers will be
Randy Martin, Glen Martin, Jeff Martin, Ryan Martin, Ron Albritton, Greg Davis,
Grant Davis, Darren Lewis, Terry Pickering, and Josh Pickering.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be K.C. Oliver, Bobby Lawrence,
Kimuel Haygood, Harlan McKnight, Gene Gary, Ed Wilson, Robert Nowasky, David Lewis,
Bryan Goins, Butch Gilliam, Ken Hollingsworth, Floyd Bass, and Jimmy Beard.
