William “Smitty” Chris
Smith, Jr., 84, of Winnie, passed away at home on August 5, 2014, surrounded by
his family.He was born on July 19, 1930, in Nederland, to Mary Ella
Vincent and William Chris Smith, Sr., and had been a lifetime resident of the
Winnie area.Smitty was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, and friend.He retired from Chevron
Pipeline/Fannett Terminal.
He is survived by his wife
of sixty years, Naoma Bryce Smith; daughters, Thelma Smith; Brenda Smith
Bartlett and her husband, Claude; Laura Smith Dugas and her husband, Mike, all
of Winnie; and Lorraine Smith Gibson of Pearland; granddaughters, Carla
Bartlett Gardner and her husband, Jason and Mikalyn Dugas; great-grandson,
Jaxon Gardner; step-grandchildren, Robert Bartlett; Jeff Bertrand; John
Bartlett; Mandi Bartlett Sanders and her husband, James; Michelle Dugas and
Hollie Dugas; step-great-grandchildren, Robbie Bartlett, Grace Bartlett, Jamie
Bertrand, Jordan Bertrand, Whitney Bertrand, Ryan Bertrand, Claudia Bartlett,
Abby Bartlett, Bronwyn Albanese, Briana Sanders, Braleigh Sanders, Blanton
Sanders, and Kaymen Dugas; and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; baby sister, Mary Lucille Smith; and step-grandchildren, John K.
Bartlett, Dana Bartlett, and Kaylee Dugas.
A gathering of Mr. Smith’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7,
2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie.His funeral service
will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to
follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
