Dennis Ray Turner, Sr., 58, of
Winnie, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at his residence. He was born August 19,
1955, in Eagle Lake, the fourth child of Eva Louise and John Turner.
Dennis worked most of his life in
the oilfield, first with Blue Gary and Wesley Kahla, and later at Big Hill. He
enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns, and will be remembered as an avid
Dallas Cowboys fan.
Mr. Turner is survived by his
children, D.R. Turner, Jr. and Natasha Turner, both of Winnie, and Bryan
Sonnier and his wife, Tonja, of LeBleu, Louisiana; grandchildren, Caleb,
Madison, Kendra, Richard, and Aiden; sisters, Donna Null and her husband,
Jacob, of Winnie; Debbie Legé of China; and brother, David Turner of Winnie.
He is preceded in death by his
parents, John Turner and Eva Louise Murphree; brother, DeWayne Turner;
grandmother, Eva Bumpas; and stepfather, Jimmie Murphree.
A gathering of Mr. Turner’s
family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow
at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer
Drive, Winnie. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
