Jo Ann Hedington passed away peacefully
at College Street Nursing Home on Monday, July 28, 2014. She was the daughter of Frank S. Barranco and
Rose DeFatta Barranco and was born in Beaumont on October 25, 1930. As a young bride and mom, Jo Ann worked at
Rosenthals and Zales Jewelers. Always interested in hair, she attended Lonnie’s
School of Hair Design, and for the next fifty-four years, she practiced her
profession until her retirement in 2012.
She is survived by her son, Frank Flowers;
her daughter, Renee’ Arthur; grandchildren, Rose Brooks and her husband, Drew,
Jacob Arthur, Victoria Arthur, and Heather Arthur; and great-grandchildren,
Hannah Brooks, Austin Brooks and Kaitlyn Farnie. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents;
husband, Robert L. Hedington; daughter, Rosemary Flowers; and brother, Sam
Barranco.
A Christian Vigil for Mrs. Hedington
will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening, July 31, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000
McFaddin, Beaumont. A private family
committal was held at Broussard’s, Crematorium.
