Charles “Charlie” Hubert
Odom, 69, of Winnie, died Monday, July 21, 2014. He was born on March 3, 1945,
in Jasper, Alabama, to Bertha Dingler Odom and Alfred Odom, and had been a
longtime resident of the Winnie area. Charles was a United States Army veteran
and a retired road foreman with Chambers County Road and Bridge.
Mr. Odom is survived by his wife of
forty-six years, Sharon Odom of Winnie; children, Karen Odom Williamson and her
husband, James, of Anahuac; John Charles Odom, Sr. and his wife, Renee; and
Mary Odom Henize and her husband, Brandon, all of Winnie; grandchildren,
Charles Dean “Chase” Odom, John Charles Odom, Jr., Dakota Hungerford, Ty
Hungerford, Emily Henize, and Wyatt Odom; brothers, Bill Odom and Dale Odom, both
of Jasper, Alabama; sisters, Frances Johnson and Wanda Odom, both of Florida; and
numerous other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; three sisters; two brothers.
A gathering of Mr. Odom’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23,
2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service
will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment
will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
