Vera Harmon

Vera Harmon, 60, of Winnie, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on February 1, 1954, to Hattie Washington George and Joseph George. Vera gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved following her children and grandchildren in their sporting events. Vera enjoyed taking care of her plants and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Harmon; son, Leslie Harmon and his wife, Tiffnie, of Winnie; daughters, Hattie Sha Lyn Harmon, Leslee Nichole Harmon, Halle Madison Harmon, and Corbyn Rayshaun Moore, all of Winnie; sister, Hattie Sanders and Anna George, both of Stowell; and brothers, Joseph George, Jr. of Stowell; Edward George of Baytown, L.J. George and L.C. George, both of Beaumont, and Willie George, J.W. George, and Mack George, all of Stowell.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents; brother, J.B. George; and sister, Beatrice DeRouen.

A gathering of Mrs. Harmon’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
