Sadie Mayfield Smith, 61, of
Winnie, died Saturday, July 5, 2014. She was born April 14, 1952, in Bay City,
to Verna Laura Adam and Roy Lewis Mayfield, Sr., and had been a lifelong
resident of the Winnie area.
Mrs. Smith is survived by sons,
James Smith and his wife, Linda Roche, of Winnie and Kelly Smith and his wife,
Julia, of Austin; grandchildren, Travis and Trevor Smith, Tarryn Smith, and Jacob
Hollingsworth; great-grandchild, Nevaeh Smith; sisters, Vern Mayfield LeBlanc
of Winnie and Barbara Jean Mayfield of Magee, Mississippi; brothers, Roy Lewis
Mayfield, Jr. and his wife, Georgia and
Jessie James Mayfield, all of Stowell; and Lee Earl Mayfield of Winnie; and numerous
nieces; nephews; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Willis Smith, Jr.; and brother, Lenard Robert Mayfield.
A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s
family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow
at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Word of Life Church, Broadway,
Winnie. A family committal for Mrs. Smith will be held at Broussard’s
Crematorium, Beaumont.
