Myrtie
“Scoop” Evans, 87, of Fannett, died Friday, July 4, 2014. She was born on
January 8, 1927, in Fannett, to Ila Ella Harvey and Thomas Henry Day.
Myrtie
enjoyed flower gardening, especially her roses, and spending time with her
family.
Mrs.
Evans is survived by sons, Charles Evans and his wife, Jenifer, of Winnie and
James W. Evans and his wife, Joan, of Evansville, Indiana; daughter, Sandra
Carter and her husband, Jimmy, of Fannett; grandchildren, Duke, Jeremy, Shaun,
Candie, and Maris; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Sara, Alexis, Grayson, Brodie,
Maeve, Braevyn, Aven, and Mayla.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Murphy Evans, Jr.
grandson, James David Carter.
A
gathering of Mrs. Evans’ family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Monday, July 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her graveside
service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Broussard Cemetery,
Broussard Cemetery Road, Hamshire.
