Nathan Gary Haynes, 70, of
Silsbee, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014.
He was born on February 22, 1944, in Kountze, to Bethel Merrell Haynes
and Thomas Larue Haynes. He graduated
from Kountze High School and enjoyed being a lifetime
resident of this area. He was a proud
local businessman and owner of N&D Motors in Silsbee.
“Nate the Great” loved the
outdoors; whether on his tractor, in his flower and vegetable gardens, or on
his jet ski at the lake. He was a
compassionate, sincere man to both the people and animals he cherished.
Survivors include his devoted
wife, Patricia “Pat” Haynes; loving daughters, Lesa Simmons and her husband,
Mark, of Silsbee, and Rhonda Haynes of Bellville; stepson, Christopher Gilbert
of Dallas; grandsons, Brandon Laird of Kountze; Chase Simmons, Logan Simmons,
and Brach Gilbert, all of Silsbee; granddaughter, Taylor Gilbert of Dallas;
three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Laura Roach and Judy
Moore, both of Kountze; brother, Dean Haynes of Kountze; and many family and
friends that will miss him very much. He
is preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of Nathan’s family
and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at
Broussard’s Mortuary, 490 Cemetery
Road, Silsbee.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at
Broussard’s Mortuary, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
