Gloria Mackenroth, 96,
of Nederland, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at The Medical Center of Southeast
Texas, Port Arthur. She was born on December 9, 1917, in Port Arthur, to
Kathoom and Frank Ferris, Sr., and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Gloria was a member of the L’Monar Club, Port Arthur and the Eagles Lodge,
Nederland. She enjoyed many card games, especially poker.
Gloria is survived by
her son, Donald Mackenroth of Nederland; grandchildren, Michael Wayne
Mackenroth and his wife, Krin and Chad Anthony Mackenroth, all of Nederland;
Lisa Mackenroth Campbell and her husband, Christopher, of Atascocita; Laura Lee
Mackenroth of Port Arthur; Mike Mackenroth of Virginia; and Patrick Mackenroth
and his wife, Elizabeth, of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Taryn Campbell,
Taylor Campbell, Emily Campbell, and Josiah Mackenroth; sister, Rosalie Miller of
Lake Charles, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Diana Mackenroth of Port Arthur;
numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.
She is preceded in
death by her parents; husband, Grover Alfred Mackenroth, Sr.; son, Grover
Alfred Mackenroth, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Tillie Mackenroth; sister,
Effie Jamail; brother, George Ferris; and sister, Teffie West.
A gathering of Mrs.
Mackenroth’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday,
June 9, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Broussard’s,
with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
