October 17, 1955 - June 3, 2014
Murphy “Gene” Broussard, 58, of
Fannett, died at his residence, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, with his loving wife and
sons by his side. He was born on October 17, 1955, in Winnie, to Lillie Marie
McGee and Murphy Joseph Broussard. Gene retired from Total, Port Arthur, as a
process supervisor after thirty-nine years of service. He will be remembered as
someone who could fix anything that did not work. Also, he enjoyed spending
time at the lake with family and friends, and who was always willing to help
anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife of forty-one
years, Debbie Broussard of Fannett; sons, Brandon Broussard and Travis Broussard,
both of Fannett; grandchildren, Brendon, Breanna, and Alex Broussard; sister,
Sandy Manela and her husband, Al, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; mother-in-law,
Grace Downs of Fannett; and numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other
relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; sisters, Judy Havard, Jackie Hebert, and Elaine Miller.
A
gathering of Mr. Broussard’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00
p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. His
funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, with
interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
