Anna Catherine Rauwerda
Van Marion, 85, of Nederland, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. A native and
lifelong resident of Nederland, she was born on July 4, 1928, to Geraldine
Hagen and William Rauwerda.
Anna is survived by her
husband of sixty-six years, Alvin Van Marion of Nederland; son, Leonard Van
Marion; daughters, Wilhelmina Allen and Christina Akbari; grandchildren, Brad Van
Marion, Bree Cammack, Brittny Williams, Ariana Akbari, and Syrina Akbari; eight
great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lucille Lang and Elizabeth Wilburn.
She is preceded in
death by her parents; and two sisters, Adriana McManus and Geraldine Roetschke.
The family would like
to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Odyssey Hospice; the nurses,
aides, and caregivers.
A gathering of Mrs. Van
Marion’s family and friends will be from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1,
2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with her graveside
service to follow at 3:15 p.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, 101 Block Street,
Port Neches.
