Zelda Daigle Wells, 90,
of Montgomery, formerly of Nederland, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St.
Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. Mrs. Wells was born on June 25, 1923, in
Houston, to Maggie Williamson Richardson and Arthur Ray Richardson. She retired
as a bookkeeper from Nederland Independent School District.
Zelda was a gracious
and loving lady who was the magnet that drew us together and bonded us for
life. So beyond the tears, grief, and
sadness we stand in gratitude for the blessings we have received from this
remarkable woman.
Mrs. Wells is survived
by her daughter, Ginger Ash and her husband, Alan; and son, Mike Daigle, all of
Montgomery; grandchildren, Stephanie Howle and her fiancé, Chad Peterson and
Christopher Howle and his wife, Christine; great-grandchildren, Haven Howle and
Wade Howle; and son-in-law, Bryan Reed.
She is preceded in
death by her parents; first husband, Ashton Daigle; second husband, R.V. Wells;
daughter, Judy Howle Reed; and brothers, Arthur Ray Richardson, Jr. and Forrest
Hampton Richardson.
A gathering of Mrs.
Wells’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May
30, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Broussard’s,
with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
The family wishes to
thank Heather Reece and Robin Lepine for their care and support of Zelda, and
to everyone at Beyond Fringe Hair Salon who made her Friday mornings a joy.
