Carolene Fontenot, 62, of Channelview, died Friday, May 16,
2014, at Faith Memorial Nursing Home in Pasadena, after a short battle with
breast cancer. She was born on November
16, 1951, in Winnie, to Emma Fontenot and James Fontenot, Jr.
She is survived by daughters, Jennifer Dempsey and Jason
Wallace of LaPorte and Shannon Carpenter Warrick and her husband, David, of
Houston; step-daughter, Gina Carey of Washington; the father of her children,
John Carpenter of Houston; sister, Hilda Lopez and her husband, Chris, of
Winnie and twin sister, Carol Parish and her husband, Mike, of Magnolia;
brothers, Emory Fontenot and his wife, Lil, of Texas City; Frenchie Fontenot
and his wife, Linda, of Houston; Henry Fontenot and his wife, Letty, of Dallas;
Donald Fontenot of Winnie; and James Fontenot and his wife, Nadine, of Alvin;
grandchildren, Megan and Zachary Dempsey, and their father, John Dempsey, all
of Deer Park; Shelbie Warrick of Houston; Brandon and Jessica Carey of
Washington; and Kimberly, Brianna and Cade Wallace of LaPorte; great-grandchild,
Chase Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Fontenot is preceded in death by her parents; sisters,
Juanita Osborne and Helen Price; and brother, Herman Fontenot.
A gathering of Ms. Fontenot’s family and friends will be
from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West
Buccaneer Road, Winnie. Her funeral
service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Broussard’s, with
interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
