Sheila Mae Galvan, 63,
of Port Neches, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at The Medical Center of Southeast
Texas, Port Arthur. She was born on March 25, 1951, in Cheneyville, Louisiana,
to Billie Jo Gaspard and Alfred Elsworth Townsend, and had been a longtime
resident of the area. Sheila was
employed for the last twelve years as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk with
Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.
She is survived by her
husband, Ismael Ramirez Galvan; son, Lloyd Bruce Ballard II and his wife,
Terry, of Silsbee; daughters, Dawn Cherie Stroud and her husband, Scott, of
Beaumont and Melissa Crim and her husband, Steven, of Nederland; stepdaughter,
Estrella Maldonado of Bridge City; sisters, Mary McMillan of Beaumont and Linda
Carol Townsend of Louisiana; grandchildren, Mecaéla Houston and her husband,
Wesley, of Spring; Ashleigh Braquet of Groves; Taylor and Emily Crim, both of
Nederland; Kya, Cameron, and Chloe Stroud, all of Beaumont; Rachelle Cormier of
Nederland; Alicia and Michael Guilbeau, both of Groves; Jeremiah and Joshua
Ballard, both of Silsbee; Caleb Crim of Nederland; and Randy Burden, Jr. and
his wife, Andrea, of Dallas; great-granddaughters, Lillian Houston, and Kaitlin
and Emily Burden; and several nieces and nephews.
Sheila is preceded in
death by her son, John Pat Gallier; mother, Billie Joe Gaspard; father, Alfred
Elsworth Townsend; sisters, Delores Norment and Rhonda Steale; brother,
Elsworth Townsend, Jr.; and granddaughter, Addison Stroud.
A gathering of Mrs.
Galvan’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May
16, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Broussard’s,
with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
