Eddie Payton, 80, of Stowell,
died Monday, May 12, 2014. He was born October 5, 1933, in High Island, to
Audie Mae Coleman and Noah Payton. Eddie had been a longtime resident of the
High Island area, before moving to Stowell.
Mr. Payton is survived by his
wife, Marie Miles “Bootsie” Payton of Stowell; daughter, Rebecca Jo Frisby and
her husband, James, of Nederland; son, Ben Eric Payton and his wife, Laurie, of
Stowell; son-in-law, Paul Myers of High Island; grandchildren, Erika Miles and
her husband, Rob; Evie Brindley and her husband, Chris; Emily Ball and her
husband, Kristian; Jessica Mouton and her husband, Eric; and Eric Payton;
great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Audrey, and April Miles; Elijah Ball, Konner and Dade Brindley, Maddox and Cory
Mouton; sisters, Mary Ruth Gau and Erin Mae “Curly” Pickney; brother, Jack Payton; and numerous
other family members.
He is preceded in death by
parents; daughter, Kathy Myers; sisters, Lillian Ferguson and Dorene Wallace; brothers,
Noah “Jr.” Payton and Charles “Pop” Payton.
A gathering of Mr. Payton’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 14, 2014,
at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be
10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at
High Island Cemetery, High Island.
