Henrijo “Jo” Pratt, 80,
of Port Arthur, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care
Hospital, Nederland. A native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur, she was
born on September 2, 1933, to Henrietta Tucker Nelson and Corna Nelson. Jo was
a retired administrator with West Orange Independent School District. She
enjoyed working crossword puzzles, being a watch maker, hunting, and fishing.
Jo is survived by her sons,
Mark Gentry and his wife, Kim, of Conroe; Todd Gentry and his wife, Cossette,
of Port Arthur; Chris Gentry and his wife, Brenda, of Groves; Greg Pratt and
his wife, Kelli, of Lumberton; and Ronnie Pratt and his wife, Becky, of
Friendswood; daughter, Becky Schmidt of Lumberton; and numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in
death by her husband, George T. “Buddy” Pratt; and son, Arthur Gentry.
A gathering of Mrs.
Pratt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May
9, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Broussard’s, with
entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
