Gerald “Jerry” Joseph
Trahan, 78, of Fannett, died Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born on November 5,
1935, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Leah Viator Trahan and Leoto Trahan, and had
been a resident of Fannett most of his
life. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean War.
Jerry was a retired safety superintendent with Brown and Root as well as
Hospital Administrator at various Healthcare Institutes. He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Jerry is survived by
his sons, Jody Trahan and his wife, Sharon, of Fannett; Gerald “Josh” Trahan II
of Port Neches; and Sean Trahan and his wife, Brandi, of Fannett grandchildren,
Skyler Trahan, Cody Trahan, Taylor Trahan, Tatum Trahan, Anthony Bienvenu and
his wife, Jayne, Carlie Chapman, and Ryley Chapman; sisters, Laura Mae
Broussard and Betty Cook; brothers, Raymond Trahan and Nolan Trahan; and
numerous other loving family members.
He is preceded in death
by his parents; his wife, Donna Bree (Lock) Trahan; and brothers, C.D. Trahan
and Roy Trahan.
A gathering of Mr.
Trahan’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday,
May 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His
funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, with
interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
