Janet Louise Istre, 78, of Beauxart Gardens,
died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Christus Hospital-St. Mary, Port Arthur. She was born on July 5, 1935, in
Port Arthur, to
Rosa Lee Badeaux and Joseph Babino, and had been a lifelong resident of the
area.
Janet had been employed with
several different companies during her lifetime, such as Gulf Refinery, Drake’s
Drive-In, and Hank’s Pharmacy. She finally retired as a nursery helper with A
Church of Jesus.
Janet is survived by her
daughters, Sandra Floyd and her husband, Steven, of Port Neches and Susan
Clifton and her husband, David, of Nederland; son, Robert Miguez, Jr. and his
wife, Sheila, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Brittany Miguez, Johnny Spell, Jr.,
Heather Kelley, Sarah Webb, Chad Smith, Nick Smith and Laci Smith;
great-grandchildren, Nataley Heard, Jaxson Webb, Drake Smith, Jameson Smith,
Zach, Meagan, Cailey, Kelley, Caleb, and Kaden Spell, Alania and Chadie Smith,
and Colton and Carter Smith; and special niece, Lois Ann Sweeny.
She is preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Clay Istre; grandson, Timothy Floyd; sister, Ruth Booker; and
brother, Johnny Babine Babino.
A gathering of Mrs. Istre’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014,
at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Broussard’s,
with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
