Bernice Hinson, 82, of
Nederland, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Cypress Glen Nursing and
Rehabilitation, Port Arthur. She was born on October 15, 1931, in Port Neches,
to Emma and Alton Block, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Bernice
had been a longtime member of Magnolia Assembly of God.
She is survived by
her sons, Richard Hinson and his wife, Katie, of Longview and Tony Randall
Hinson and his wife, Paula, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Harmon
Block of Port Neches; sisters, Nora Weeks and her husband, Alfred, of Port Neches;
Sue Melancon of Michigan; Judy Screen and Vickie Craver, both of Port Neches;
and Toni Whitman of Winnie; grandchildren, Amanda Enslin and her husband, Marc,
of Fort Worth; Courtney Briggs and her husband, Josh, of Longview; Blake Hinson
of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Holly Hinson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great-grandson,
Clark Enslin; brothers-in-law, Owen Glidewell and Charles Ballew; and sisters-in-law,
Stella Block and Vilma Block.
Bernice is preceded in
death by her husband, Barney Hinson; parents; sisters, Minnie Glidewell,
Roberta Ballew, Betty Allison, and Helen Dews; and brothers, Joseph Block, E.H.

A gathering of Mrs.
Hinson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday,
April 25, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Her
funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Broussard’s,
with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
