Mattie Mae
Lamkin, 82, of Nederland, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at The Medical Center of
Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. She was
born on May 23, 1931, to Nora Fannie Bibby Chambers and Monroe Chambers in May,
Texas. Mrs. Lamkin enjoyed traveling and camping. Most of all, she loved being a mom, wife and
homemaker.
Mrs. Lamkin
is survived by her husband of sixty years, Julius W. Lamkin of Nederland;
daughter, Sheila Cloyd and her husband, Richard, of Vidor; grandson, Jason
Cloyd and his wife, Rhonda, of Nederland; and great-grandchildren, Landon,
Justin and Addison.
She is
preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
A gathering
of Mrs. Lamkin’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with her funeral
service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505
North 12th Street, Nederland.
Her interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
