Lowell
“Bud” Crawford, 75, of Nederland, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Gulf
Healthcare Nursing Facility in Port Arthur. He was born May 5, 1938, to Sarah
Madeline Phillips and Lowell Bierley Crawford in Walton, New York, and had been
a resident of the area since 1958. Bud was a veteran of the United States Army
and was very proud to have served his country as an 11th airborne
paratrooper. He will be remembered as a man who loved animals, playing cards
and watching the Nederland Bulldogs.
Survivors
include his wife of fifty-four years, Janice Crawford; sons, David Crawford and
Jack Crawford and his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Robin Domingue and her husband,
Freddy, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Janell, James, Heather, Holly, Lacy
and Kate; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Modon, Jane Lord, Carolyn
Greer and Ethel Hanson; and brothers, Herb and Victor Crawford.
He
is preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Stansbury; grandson, Chris Cady;
parents, Lowell and Sarah Crawford; sisters, Mary Anderson and Blanche Doris;
and brother, Kenny Crawford.
A
gathering of Mr. Crawford’s family and friends will be from 5:00p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at
Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service
will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to
follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
