Reverend William H. Tanton, 85, of Votaw, died Wednesday, April 8, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on July 3, 1928, to Lucy Sebold Tanton and Henry Tanton. Reverend Tanton was a retired minister with Votaw Worship Center.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Kimberly Berry and her husband, Jason; and great-grandchildren, Mikalah and Josiah Berry.
He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Joyce Tanton; and son, Ronald Tanton.
A gathering of Reverend Tanton’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Votaw Worship Center, 3160 FM 2798, Votaw. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014, at the church, with interment to follow at Votaw Cemetery, Votaw, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
