Michael
“Gonzo” Porter, 57, of Nederland, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at UTMB
Hospital, Galveston. He was born February 27, 1957, to Mary Belle and Ross
Porter in Houston.
Survivors
include his daughter, Amy Porter, grandchildren, Brody Saatzer and Brynn
Saatzer; brother, Robert Kelly and his wife, Carolyn; sister, Susan Mott and
her husband, Randy, all of Nederland; numerous nieces and nephews; and his extended
family, the Mavericks Motorcycle Club.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Lisa Porter.
A
gathering of Mr. Porter’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00
p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27,
2014, at Broussard’s, with a committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium,
Beaumont.
Serving
as pallbearers will be Troy Devillier, Mike McGuire, Ted Graeter, Donald “Dogface”
Easthouse, Clark “Tig” Teague. Joe Paul, Blaine Parsons and Bill “Grumps”
Shuler; and Robert “Rocket” Allen as an honorary pallbearer.
