Arthur
Dewayne George, 83, of Silsbee, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Baptist
Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on September 10, 1930, in Longview, to Mildred
Somers George and Leonard George. Arthur
was a United States Air Force veteran and retired air traffic controller.
Survivors
include his wife, Doris George; children, Teresa English and her husband, Mtch,
of Lumberton; Sharon George of Houston; Jeff George and his wife, Lisa, of
California; Melanie Almufti and her husband, Hani, of Groves; Joel George of
Silsbee; and Jennifer Kidder of Kountze; grandchildren, Micah English, Ben
English, Hannah Barclay, Danielle George, Caitlin George, Taylor George, Caleb
Flannigan, Yousef Ahmed, Iman Almufti, Mona Almufti, Layla Almufti, Lauren Kidder, Bailey Kidder,
and Evan Carter; and sister, Melba Bailey of Longview. He
is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Art George.
A
gathering of Mr. George’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Broussard’s, 490
Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, at
Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hardin Memorial Park,
Silsbee.
