Jonnie
M. “Buddy” Wallace, 79, of Nederland, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014.
He was born in Port Arthur on September 29, 1934, to Bonnie and Homer Wallace.
Buddy was six years old when his parents moved to Kirbyville, Texas. He
graduated high school and later was honorably discharged from the United States
Army in 1957. Employed by Texaco, he met and married Elsie Johnson of Alvin in
1961. They resided in Nederland and also moved their church membership to First
Baptist Church, Nederland.
Jonnie
leaves behind his son, Jay Wallace and his wife, Kay; daughter, Terri King and
her husband, Jeff; grandsons, Daniel Wallace, Aaron Wallace and Reese King;
sister, Edith Davis; and a very special friend and constant companion, Loretta
Morman.
He
is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Elsie Wallace.
A
gathering of Mr. Wallace’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland.
A
private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Greenlawn
Memorial Park, Groves.
