Labo Marion Tallarita

Labo M. Tallarita,
90, of Beaumont, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at Baptists Hospitals of
Southeast Texas-Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was born to Rosalie Capo
Tallarita and Mario Tallarita, on April 10, 1923.
Labo was a
proud South Park Greenie, Class of 1943. He served his country in the United
States Army in World War II and was given a Purple Heart. He worked for Gulf
Oil for thirty-three years and retired as a supervisor. Labo and his wife
enjoyed camping and traveling to all fifty states. He enjoyed volunteering in
Little League with his sons and then his grandkids. He was a very giving person
and took care of his wife and sisters. All of his neighbors knew when they
needed something; he was the one to go to. He will be missed by all that knew
him.
Survivors
include his sons, Marion L. Tallarita and his wife, Susan, and John M.
Tallarita, and his wife, Kathy, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Maria
Tallarita, Beau Tallarita, Bryce Tallarita, Lainey Tallarita, and Landon Tallarita;
and many other loving family members.
He is
preceded in death by his wife, Billie Hutson Tallarita; and sisters, Agnes
Tallarita, Frances Pizolato, Margaret Tallarita, Mary Kathryn Lomonte, Carlis
Carroll, and Gertrude Tallarita.
A Rosary for
Mr. Tallarita will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at
Broussard’s, with a gathering of his family and friends to follow at 6:30 p.m., at 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Our Lady of the
Assumption Catholic Church, 4445 Avenue A, Beaumont, with interment to follow
at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
