Daniel Ray Simon, 70, of Silsbee,
died Friday, February 7, 2014. He was
born on January 20, 1944, in Lucedale,
Mississippi, to Hazel Havard
Simon and Clarence Simon. During the
Cambodia War, Daniel served as a United States Army Ranger. He later worked as a pipeline supervisor for
Bechtel Corporation.
Survivors include his children,
Rhonda Simon and Danny Simon and his wife, Dianne, all of Silsbee; and Michael
Simon of Orange; grandchildren, Kolbie Kruft, Klaire Simon, Brittany Simon, and
Jackson Simon; mother, Hazel Roy of Silsbee; and brothers, Flennis Simon and
his wife, Donna, of California; Tommy Simon and his wife, Shirley, and Allen
Roy and his wife, Sherri, all of Houston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Simon; and his
step-father, Rufus Roy.
A gathering of Mr. Simon's family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His committal will be held at
Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
