Courtney Ray Sterling, 15, of Lumberton, died Tuesday,
February 4, 2014. She was born on
October 29, 1998, in Beaumont,
to Dawn Guidry Sterling and Michael Sterling.
Courtney was a freshman at Lumberton
High School. She played the flute in the band and was also
in the Color Guard. She had a beautiful smile
and a sweet personally.
Survivors include her parents;
grandfather, Jimmie Sterling and his wife, Marilyn, of Toledo Bend;
grandmother, Marjorie Satterthwaite and her husband, Terry, of Bevel Oaks;
grandfather, Harold Guidry of Beaumont; grandmother, Betty Guidry of Sour Lake;
brother-in-law, Timothy Burns of Lumberton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and
cousins. She is preceded in death by her
grandmother, Charlotte Guidry.
A gathering of Courtney’s family
and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 19,
2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery
Road, Silsbee.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at
Crestwood Baptist Church, 1150 Highway 69 (three miles north of Lumberton High
School), with interment at Pine Ridge Cemetery, near Sour Lake, at a later
date.
