Lucy Pearce, 86,
formerly of Nederland, died Friday, January 24, 2014, in Austin. She was born
February 10, 1927, to Martha and Clarence Boatright, and was a resident of the
Mid-County area for fifty years. Lucy
will be remembered by her church family at First United Methodist Church in
Nederland and her many friends and associates as a caring teacher, loving
mother and accomplished seamstress and artist.
Lucy is survived by her
son, Ronald Clour and his wife, Connie, of Brookeland; daughter, Marsha Lee
Howard and her husband, Jack, of Austin; grandchildren, Christie Linscomb, Chad
Clour, Nathan and Amy Howard; and step-grandchildren, Deidre O’Brien and Leslie
Villareal; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in
death by her husbands; Bernard Clour in 1975, and Jack Pearce in 2010; and her
brothers, Clarence Boatright Jr. and Robert Boatright.
A gathering of Mrs.
Pearce’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service
to follow at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday January 29, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North
12th Street, Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial
Park in Port Neches.
