Charles William “Bill” Land, Jr.,
74, of Silsbee, died Sunday, January 19, 2014, in Silsbee. He was born on September 26, 1939, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Juanita Radley Land
and Charles William Land, Sr.
Mr. Land was a charter member of
Trinity Baptist Church of Silsbee. He
served in the Children’s Church Ministry and Bus Ministry. He dearly loved children and serving the
Lord. He also loved to fish and cook
gumbo.
Survivors include his wife,
Marleen Bottoms Land; children, Charles William “Chuck” Land, III and his wife,
Brenda, of Galveston; Dana Land of Los Angeles, California; Chad Land of
Houston; Julie Howard and her husband, Michael, of Maryland; and Laurie Morton
and her husband, Karl, of Nederland; grandchildren, Chloe` Land, Christopher
Lazauskas, Aleena Land, Nicholas, Ashleigh, and Jacob Easterwood, Caleb Parks,
Arianna Howard, Emily, Melanie, Valerie, and Wyatt Morton; great-grandchild,
Leah Rose Easterwood; sister, Patricia Jimmerson Land of Florida; and brother,
Michael Land and his wife, Tammy, of Nederland.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jimmy Land.
A gathering of Mr. Land’s family
and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22,
2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery
Road, Silsbee.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Trinity Baptist
Church, 880 Gentry Road, Silsbee, with interment
to follow at R.S.
Farmer Memorial
Park, Silsbee.
