June Monteau, 81, of
Winnie, died Friday, January 17, 2014. She was born on August 24, 1932, in
Colorado City, to Pearl Allen and Gordon Russell Shoemaker, and had been a
longtime resident of the Winnie area.
Survivors include
her daughters, Linda Monteau of Winnie; Renee Rawls and her husband, Kenneth,
of Dickinson; Patty Lund and her husband, Daryl, of Winnie; son, Charles
Monteau, Jr., and his wife, Patricia, of Webster; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Marie Craddock and her husband, Don, of
Lake Charles, Louisiana; numerous nieces; nephews; and friends.
Mrs. Monteau is
preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Monteau, Sr., son, John
Russell “Rusty” Monteau.
A gathering of Mrs.
Monteau’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday,
January 19, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral
service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, at First United
Pentecostal Church, 1210 FM 1406 SE, Winnie, with interment to follow at
Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
