Kline "KP" P. Chandler

Kline
P. “KP” Chandler, 72, of Nederland, died Thursday, January 16, 2014. He was
born March 12, 1941, to Mamie Louise and Kline Polk Chandler, Sr. in Port
Arthur, and had been a lifelong resident of the Mid-County area. KP was a
veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He was a 1959 graduate of Thomas
Jefferson High School, Port Arthur, and attended Lamar University. KP spent his
career working for Dupont Chemical, having retired after forty years of
employment as a training supervisor. He enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting with
his family and friends, coaching junior sports and watching his grandchildren
participate in events. KP was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church,
Nederland, was a Gideon and will be remembered as a man who loved the Lord.
He
is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Sharron Chandler;
daughter, Holly Nicole Bardwell and her husband, Morris, of Canyon Lake; sons,
Shawn Chandler and his wife, Sharla and Bryan Chandler and his wife, Robin, all
of Nederland; grandchildren, Treven, Dustin and Morrie Bardwell, Vanessa and
Beth Chandler and Bailey and Corbin Chandler; great-grandchildren, Tyler and
Hunter Bardwell; sisters, Vonda Wright and her husband, Buddy, of Lake Charles
and Sheila Schwab and her husband, Ken, of Hutto; and will especially be missed
by his little dachshund, Lilly.
KP
is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lura LeBlanc.
A
gathering of Mr. Chandler’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 20,
2014, at First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland. Interment
will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
