Michelle
Lynn Allen Hoyt, 46, of Winnie, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, very
peacefully in her sleep, following a long, painful illness. She was born July
16, 1967, in Watervliet, Michigan to Carolyn Yarbrough and Kenneth Marion
Allen, Sr.
Michelle,
better known as Chelle or Grammee, will be best remembered as the “sweet twin”.
She enjoyed sewing, crochet, crafting and researching her family tree. Those
who called her Grammee were her whole world; the reason she woke up in the
morning and endured each day. She recently got engaged Christmas Eve and was
excited to begin her new life with her new found love.
Survivors
include her fiancé, Johnny Manuel of Winnie; daughter, Rachel Simmons and her husband, Rob, of Port
Neches; son, Matthew Hoyt and his wife,
Courtney, of Dayton; twin sister, Tammy Leger and her husband, David, of
Lumberton; sister, Lena Hester and her husband, Robbie, of Mobile, Alabama;
brothers, Kenneth Allen, Jr. and his wife, Jamie of Winnie; and Timothy Allen, of
Mobile, Alabama; step-sisters, Stacy Bourque and Pattie Hoelzer; sisters by
choice, Elisabeth Clement and Mary Hoyt; grandchildren, Brayden, Destiney and
Bayleigh Simmons; Joshua Hoyt, Samantha and Tamra Perry; nieces and nephews,
Jennifer Perry and her husband, Anthony; Micah Allen; Jake Cosio; Kris Allen;
Stephany Allen; Keaton Adkison; Timmy Allen; Maija Allen; Karrina Appling;
Krissy Baker; Jeremy Bishop; Kenley Bishop; Jonah Allen; Jaxsen Fowler; twins,
Emma and Micah Allen; and great-nephew, Gracen Allen.
Ms. Hoyt was
preceded in death by her parents; baby, baby brother, Patrick Darland; and
step-sister, Angela Bourque.
A gathering of Ms.
Hoyt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, Monday,
January 13, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral
service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Broussard’s, with
interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
