Jeanie M. Smith, 87, of
Port Neches, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at Cypress Glen East Nursing
Facility, Port Arthur. She was born August 1, 1926, to Ollie Bell and William
Matthews in Monroe City, and had been a local resident of the area since 1955.
She devoted her life to caring for her family.
Jeanie is survived by
her sons, Rick Cassell of Fairfax, Virginia and David Smith and his wife, Judy,
of Crawford; daughters, Vicki Baker and her husband, Jerry, of Vonroe, Tennessee
and Tammy Delage and her husband, Steve, of Nederland; grandchildren, Landon
Delage and his wife, Courtney, William Delage and his wife, Ashley, A.J. Delage
and his wife, Ashley, Tyler Smith, Caitlin Smith and Allison Smith; and
great-grandchildren, Peyton Delage, Anders Delage and Bronson Delage.
She is preceded in
death by her parents; husband, Earl D. Smith; and grandsons, Jeffry M. Thompson
and Scott A. Thompson.
A graveside service for
Mrs. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Oak Bluff
Memorial Park, Port Neches, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th
Street, Nederland.
