Matilda "Tidge" Joycelyn Orton

Matilda Joycelyn “Tidge” Orton, 82, of
Vidor, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Born March 30, 1931, in Baytown, she was the
daughter of Matilda Caroline Steussey Roberts and Walter Roberts. Matilda was a
L.S.M. operator with the United States Postal Service and retired after
twenty-six years of service.
She is survived by her children, Joseph
B. Orton of Manor, Timothy W. Orton of San Diego, California, Louellyn Burgin
and Samuel E. Orton, both of Vidor; nine grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Orton will be
9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Broussard’s Chapel,
2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. Graveside
services will follow at Earthman Memorial Garden, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown.
