Viola Rosalie Day, 89, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at
The Arboretum of Winnie. She was born on March 28, 1924, in Cleveland, Ohio, to
Rosa Greub Rietmann and Eugene Rietmann. Viola worked many years as a waitress
with Don’s Seafood.
Survivors include her sons, David Day and his wife, Cindy, of
Hamshire; Mike Day and his wife, Beth and Boyd Day, all of Fannett;
stepdaughter, Charlene Dahlquist of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; eleven
grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous other friends and
relatives.
Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurman Day;
daughter, Patricia Ann Day Allen; and sister, Lillian Rietmann Ancheta.
A gathering of Mrs. Day’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West
Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday,
December 5, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Broussard
Cemetery, Fannett.
