James E. Barrow, 86, of
Beaumont, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013. A lifelong resident and native of
Beaumont, he was born on August 21, 1927, to Marguerite Schmidt Barrow and
James Elbert Barrow. A World War II Army veteran, he was a corporal and served
as a surgical technician.
Survivors include his
children, Linda M. Duvall and her husband, Howard of Beaumont; and Laura
McKinnis and her husband Rick, of Lumberton; grandchildren, Kim Outlaw and her
husband, Michael of League City; Jimmy Duvall and his wife, Lori of Groves; and
Ricky Meza of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Landes Outlaw, Colin Duvall,
Joseph Waylon Outlaw, and Kinsley Duvall.
He is preceded in death by
his wife, Elizabeth J. “Betty” Barrow; brother, Raymond Barrow; and sister,
Evelyn Collins.

A gathering of Mr. Barrow’s
family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 29,
2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica,
700 Jefferson Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery,
Beaumont.
