Catherine "Cathy" Abalos
January 7, 1947 - September 27, 2013
Catherine
Abalos, 66, of Winnie, went to her home in heaven on Friday, Saturday 27, 2013.
She was born on January 7, 1947, in
Texon, Texas, to Josephine Lozano.
Catherine
will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She valued having a strong family and being a
homemaker, which enabled the family to be blessed on a daily basis. Catherine
worked in the home as a seamstress, and will also be remembered for being a
great cook.
She
touched the lives of so many people through the years, and has left her family
and friends with specials memories. Catherine left lasting impressions on those
who knew and loved her, and she will be missed by all.
She
was raised by her grandmother whom she adored, as well as aunts, who were like
sisters, that she loved in Rankin,
Texas. Her fondest memories as a child were spent
with her brother, Richard and many cousins that loved her dearly. To her
family, friends, community, and acquaintances, every day of the fifty-two years
spent with the love of her life, Joe, will always be a testament that true
happiness really does exist. The love
she shared with her husband was an example to her family of true love and
commitment. Known to her grandchildren
as “Granny”, she will forever hold a special place in their hearts. They will always hold the memories of all the
years with her and all the many games shared together. Catherine taught them to always win and they loved
adjusting her glasses! The wisdom and
advice she left us with will always be instilled in the hearts and minds of
everyone who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. She
will be forever missed and forever loved.
Catherine
is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Joe Abalos of Winnie, as well as
her five sons; and one daughter: Frank Abalos of Winnie, and his wife, Misty;
grandson, Michael; and granddaughters, Erica, Autumn, and Aliyah; Steve Abalos
