C.L. Simmons, Jr., 87, of
Nederland, died Thursday, September 18, 2013.
He was born on May 6, 1926, to Lou Lee Perkins Simmons and Clarence L.
Simmons, Sr. C.L. was a Army Air Force veteran and retired as an operator with
Texaco following forty-one years of service. He was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Charlotte Simmons; sons, Paul Simmons and his wife, Judy, of Hattisburg,
Mississippi and Mark Simmons and his wife, Jimmie, of Orange County; grandchildren,
Ellie Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Jeremy Simmons, Sherry Stout, Jason Simmons, and
Dana Simmons; great-grandchildren, Heather Stout, Lauren Stout, Kailyn Simmons,
Kairi Simmons, Ashton Shultz, Malaki Broome Simmons, and Alyssa Simmons;
sister, Jerry Presley; nieces, Donna Watts and Lisa Smith; great-nephew, Justin Kisner; and
great-niece, Brandi Watts.
He is preceded in death by his
parents; son, Kent Alan Simmons; and brothers, Leo Simmons, and Jimmy Simmons.
A gathering of Mr. Simmons’
family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September
20, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 12th
Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m.,
Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Hillcrest
Baptist Church,
3324 Park Drive, Nederland with interment to follow at Memory Gardens
of Jefferson County,
Nederland.
