Billie Prue Parnell

Billie Prue Parnell, 90, of Winnie, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the Winnie Community Hospital.

She was born in Hope, New Mexico, on May 8, 1923, to Emma Lee Wilburn Crockett and William Crockett.

Billie was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and will be remembered as a great cook. She was everyone’s grandmother, was loved dearly and will be missed by all.

Billie is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Raymond “Rip” Parnell, of Winnie; daughter, Patty Parnell-Cessna and her husband, James of Scottsdale, Arizona; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael Lee Parnell and Billy Ray Parnell; and eleven brothers and sisters.

A gathering of Mrs. Parnell’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
