Mark Mason Sr., 61 of Groves died Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at his residence in Groves.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Dr. David Higgs and pastor Allen Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Mr. Mason was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur. He retired after serving 22 years in the U.S. Navy. He also worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, and the Groves Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Mason of Groves; two sons, Mark Mason, Jr. and wife Lanette of Port Arthur and Jody Mason and wife Patsy of LaBelle; one daughter, Traci Millican and husband Rodney of LaBelle; stepmother, Ella Mae Mason of Bridge City; one brother, Michael Mason and wife Cristina of San Antonio; four sisters, Sylvia Kirby and husband Mark of Bridge City, Kellie Meaux and husband Darren of Sugarland, Roz Owen and husband Tom of Ft. Worth, and JoElla Floyd and husband Chuck of Ft. Worth; four stepsons, Bryan Klinkhammer and wife Jill of Groves, Jessie Myers of Groves, Joshua Myers, of Groves, and Joey Myers of Groves; one stepdaughter, Wendy Myers of Groves; former wife, Linda Mason of Port Neches; and twelve grandchildren.
