Ora Elizabeth “Beth” Burnett, 86, of Nederland, went to meet our Lord on May 19, 2013. She was born on September 27, 1926, in Sedalia, Missouri, to Edna Mae Jones Hageman and James Andrew Hageman.
Most of all, Beth loved her family and spent most of her life as a hands on mother. Her face always lit up when a baby was around, even to the point of working in the nursery at church. She never missed an opportunity to visit and play with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling all the way to Indiana to see the newest member of the family.
She is survived by her children, Robert Wayne Burnett and his wife, Lee Anna, of Kingwood; Martha Gail Burnett Amsden of Nederland; and Ila Marie Burnett Gonzales and her husband, Gaylon, of Beaumont; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, Jonathan Amsden, his wife, Carla, and their daughter, Dominique, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Katie Amsden Smith, her husband, James, and their daughters, Julie and Emily, of Ruston, Louisiana; Perry Burnett, his wife, Jamie, and their children, Maddie, Jonah, and Jubilee, of Evansville, Indiana; Jeremy Burnett, his wife, Patricia, and their daughter, Elizabeth, of Wilmington, North Carolina; Kelley Amsden Bulot, her husband, Brad, and their daughters, Alex and Olivia, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Jennifer Gonzales and her son, Michael, of Beaumont; and Julie Gonzales Sherman and her daughter, Kiristine, of Houston; brother, Donnie Hageman of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; and sisters; Mary Rose Cressley of Sedalia, Missouri and Ruth Ann of California.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Louis Burnett, with whom she spent over fifty years of wedded bliss; parents; and six siblings.
A gathering of Mrs. Burnett’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Broussard's, 505 12th Street Nederland.
