Frank Louis Rainey, Jr. was born on November 3, 1931 to Frank Louis Rainey, Sr. and Sarah Louise Rainey. He departed this life on December 4, 2004 surrounded by those who loved him dearly. Louis retired after many years of service from Mobil Chemical. He remained a close friend with many of his co-workers.
Louis loved spending time raising cows and fishing at the beach. He and his family spent great times at their beach cabin. Louis had many memorable fishing expeditions with his family and friends in his boat, DeeDee.
By far, the most important part of Louis’ life was his family. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-two years, Dee, a retired teacher from East Chambers Elementary. He and Dee had three loving and caring daughters, Cindy Eskue, a teacher, Lou Ann Rainey, a principal, and Toby McKeever, a hairdresser. No father was prouder of his girls than Louis. His girls were truly the lights of his life. He also adored his two sons-in-laws, George Eskue and Tommy McKeever. George and Tommy were the sons he never had. He loved them as if they were his own.
After years of being surrounded by women- his wife, three daughters, female dogs and heifers, Louis was blessed by the birth of his first grandson, Kyle. No one was prouder to be called PawPaw. Several years later he was blessed again by the birth of his second grandson, Ryan. Louis spent many hours proudly watching his grandsons excel academically and athletically. PawPaw, we know you are watching Kyle as he continues in medical school and Ryan as he prepares to drive and succeed in high school. We know your heart and spirit will continue to watch over us and inspire us. In addition to his wonderful grandsons he leaves behind his favorite “granddog” Char, teasingly known as the best-behaved grandchild.
Louis also leaves to mourn his sister, Jeanette Edwards, his niece Dana Edwards and nephew Tommy Edwards.
Louis was described as sappy, sweet, sentimental, honest and loyal. His family and friends dearly loved him. He will be greatly missed and ever in our thoughts.
