Mary Beth LeNormand, 61, died April 20, 2013, in Beaumont, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Mary, the daughter of Dora and Charlie LeNormand, was born in Liberty, Texas and spent her childhood in Lindsay, Oklahoma before moving to Beaumont. She was a graduate of Lamar University, where she studied English and French. She was a student activity director at Lamar’s Setzer Center and at Texas Tech University. She taught French at All Saints’ School and then both French and English at Vidor High School.

Mary was a guitarist, singer, and choir leader. She was a member of the Christian music group Rainbow. She led choirs at Lucas House and at Emeritus Dowlen Oaks. She was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s and St. Mark’s Episcopal Churches where she taught Sunday School, led contemporary music and was a member of the Order of the Daughters of the King.

In addition to music, Mary loved dachshunds, literature and people. She shared the love and grace of God wherever she went.

Mary is survived by her father Charlie and his wife Ruby LeNormand, of Beaumont; uncle, John Brammer of Tennessee; and many cousins. Mary made friends wherever she was; and friends from every season of her life cherish their time with her. Mary was fortunate to have a large circle of devoted best friends. Her family gives thanks for each one but especially to Mary Pat Linn, Kathy Doane and Ann Butler.

A Service of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 26, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 4090 Delaware in Beaumont, with a visitation and reception following, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Mary’s ashes will be interred at St. Mark’s Church Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, Mary asked that memorial contributions be made to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 4090 Delaware, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

I am so sorry to hear of this wonderful Beautiful person passing. She was a gift to all that knew her or who she touched by her music, or just friendship. I will sorely miss her and pray that she is making beautiful music in heaven.. May God be with her family during this time and may God bless you greatly.

I remember the loving, cheerful girl & woman, who was my cousin. Her joy and caring for others--always present. Deepest sympathy to Uncle Charlie and Ruby...we'll all miss her, and at the same time be so thankful for her presence in our lives.

Mary was one of my favorite people. I've known her since birth and you couldn't find a nicer person. She will truly be missed, loved, and will remain in our hearts forever!
