Rickey Vernon Welch, 66, of Kountze, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Rickey was born August 19, 1946 in Olney, Texas to George Vernon “Dick” and Doris Capitola Graham Welch. A resident of Kountze since 1979, he was a retired salesman for Gulf Supply Company in Beaumont.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Barbara Welch of Kountze; son, Scott Sanders of Beaumont; granddaughter, Kayla Ross; niece, Gay King of Gainesville; and nephew, Kevin King of Gainesville.
A gathering of Mr. Welch’s family and friends will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Luke’s, 2325 Calder, Beaumont. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 755 South 11th Street, Suite 212, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
